the getty center | out & about in LA

We love museum tours - did the garden tour and the exhibition tour on The Spectacular Art of Jean Leon Gerome. Fun day, but so much to see in one day. Will have to go back.

The garden was designed by Robert Iwrin. Names he engraved on the rock: Anna Grace (his daughter) + Adele (his wife) .

A maze of azalea plants, supposedly really beautiful during the flowering season.

Garden Terrace Cafe. I love the wide, open feel of the cafe.

On the left, looks like only one tree, but if you just take one step on either side, you will see that it is actually a line of trees. I thought that was pretty cool =)

I am so grateful to all the photographers whose images have inspired me over the last few years. I have learned so much from all of them because of their willingness to share. I hope I can do the same for others.

dreams

Planning a couple of trips for this summer and it's getting me excited about seeing new places and capturing the beauty of those places with my camera. Can't wait...

brother and sister

Little happy one is 6 months old.
Little pouty one is his sister. She's 3 years old + a few months.
Both incredibly adorable.

sweet gesture

This little girl is not more than 2 years old. She had some berries in her hands and offered them to another little girl, telling her "here, you can eat these." I doubt these were edible, but seeing her generosity brought a smile to my face =)

celebrate!

What a wonderful night this was! We celebrated finishing our last day of rheumatology fellowship at Cafe Santorini. The roof-top patio was really cozy, the weather was perfect, the food and drinks were yummy, and the company was just fabulous!

It took us almost a decade since medical school to get to where we are now, so as you can imagine, we were beyond thrilled. I think I'm still in a bit of shock =) These colleagues of mine were some of the most wonderful, hard-working, and funny people I've worked with. Thanks for the good times, guys! Will really miss you!

Here's Liz, probably cracking one of her many funny jokes, and Darice looking so entranced =)

The junior fellows surprised us with these gifts. There was a personalized engraved plate on each. The joke was that we were all honored as "Fellow of the Year" (it's a very special honor - I plan to use it on my resume, haha!)

Yeah, keep those drinks comin'! Except after two glasses, I broke into a rash that stayed on for more than 24 hours.
