love, love, and more love

Photobucket
Hope you had a chance to indulge in some delicious chocolate covered dessert.

Roses can be rediculously overpriced. I think carnations make a lovely bouquet for Valentine's Day. Do you see that black and white shadowy figure behind the flowers?

It's my kitty, Pokey, getting ready to pounce on the flowers. She has a strange affinity for flowers and fruits. When she sees flowers, she wastes no time to devour them. The problem is that some plants can be quite poisonous to cats. So, she was scolded (gently, of course).

And lastly, here is an interesting mutant for this special day:

more love to come tomorrow

Photobucket

My macro lens has been neglected for a very long time. It is not a particularly versatile lens, but I do love the images that come out of it. I had fun with it today and will share some more pics tomorrow. By the way, got this card at good old Target for only $1!

eeeeeeek!

My mom believes every plate needs to be licked clean, and you never ever leave your meat uneaten (for those of you who are Chinese, perhaps you have had the same experience). When I was younger, I was told that if I leave any grains of rice in my bowl, I would have bad acne when I grow up. Yikes.

For years, my mom has tried to get me to eat fish heads and fish eyeballs (cuz "they'll make your eyes shine!"). Well, I was not convinced. My mom has since focused her effort on the newer generation. And as you can see here, my little nephew isn't convinced either.

olvera street | part one

I recently reconnected with a coworker on facebook (oh yes, the usual place for this type of reconnection :). I found out that she was quite a photographer! We decided to meet up on Olvera Street for a photowalk together. Turned out her husband was also an amazing photographer! It was pure joy and fun hanging out with both of them.

Earlier, I posted a few photos from this day trip. I have so many more to share and here's part I.

purse obsession...

... starts early in life :)

She insisted on carrying *her* purse (it was one that her mom didn't want anymore). Our bank account is happy that I can't tell expensive purses from inexpensive ones (I think my most expensive one is a camera bag!). But maybe one of these days, I should splurge. Any recommendations?
