last day of august

Life got a bit busier than usual last week, including a short trip to SF to photograph a lovely wedding. Here's a photo for my last day of the August Break challenge (which I thought I did pretty well, initially :)

It's my favorite meal of the day. If we didn't need fiber and protein, I'd have french toasts and waffles for all three meals! Hey, does the fiber in the fruit toppings count?

Talk about random! I think this has got to be my most random post, ha! I bought this little stuffed animal 3 years ago because I thought it would be fun to photograph it. I took it out to the park and took advantage of the sunset to get that warm glow (you know, for practice, back when I was desperate for any model :) I mean, look at that face! Plus, it's pink! So, I had to get it.

It's been sitting on my shelf in the same place for 3 years, collecting lots of dust. Then I grabbed it recently when I was skyping for the first time with my nephew. He liked it and giggled. I think it's rather cute!

bookworm

I'm definitely not a bookworm. I realize that I have a very short attention span when it comes to reading, so I'm more of a magazine type of gal. Most of the time, I'm reading science journals (blah!). So, my idea of a relaxing weekend is hanging out at a bookstore with a pile of magazines and a cup of hot coffee. I guess I'm just so drawn to the glossy, colorful pages even though the content is often so pathetic!


So, I'm going to make an effort to read more novels. But first, I'll have to finish this one which I had picked up 6 months ago and still only half way through! It's a really good book though (so far :)

pamper yourself

I was not a believer of soaps that cost $8.50/bar or more. Hey, I just need a bar of soap that will get me clean! I got these initially as gifts for someone else, then I had to use one because I had run out of my regular soap (aka the cheap brand where you can buy 10 bars for $4). Well, let me tell you, once I experienced one of these silky, sweet-scented soap, I realized what I've been missing (and I ended up keeping them all for myself :) !

Finding Pokey in some sort of a container is a common occurrence. It doesn't matter how small it is or if it's already filled with something else, she will still sit in it like it's the most comfortable place.

Her favorite is jumping into a warm load of laundry that has just come out from the dryer.





Don't know how she got into my purse...



If there was a kitty modeling contest, I think she would totally win it (she also has the diva attitude to go with her looks!).

the august break 2011

I first found out about the August Break from Cindy's blog. I know we're almost half way through the month of August, but what the heck, I'm going to join starting today. It'll give me the little push that I need to post more often :) So, anything goes - I'll be posting at least one image per day for the rest of the month - whatever inspires me to share on that day!
